February 12, 2013. Off Broadway Children¹s Theatre announces two additional
performances of Disney¹s The Little Mermaid JR on Saturday, February 16 at
6pm and 8pm.

After six sold-out performances, the award-winning OBD Kids Musical Theatre
Troupe will extend their show for these last two engagements before heading
to Disney World in late February to compete in the National Performing Arts
Festival. All proceeds from the shows will support their trip.

Starring as Ariel, Owen Claire Smith recently won Outstanding Female
Performer at the 2013 Junior Theater Festival, one of only 11 females to win
this prestigious award.

Parents must pick up cast member’s script and rehearsal schedule at the studio on Friday, January 11th between 2:00pm and 6:00pm. Chris Brent Davis is an Atlanta-based singer, Actor, and Music Director. However, he has been seen all along the east coast as well on TV. Most recently Off-Broadway he was seen in “Greenwood: the Musical” starring Broadway’s original Annie, Andrea McArdle. Regional Credits Include: “A Year with Frog and Toad” (Snail/Man Bird/Various), “Joseph…Technicolor Dreamcoat” (Simeon/Ensemble), “Children’s Letters to God” (Brett), and Theatre of the Stars’ “The Sound of Music.” As a Music Director, Chris Brent has worked for theaters all over Atlanta including Christian Youth Theatre Atlanta, Atlanta Studio Theatre, Next Stage Theatre Company, and many more. His private students can been seen on stage and screen across the nation.

A musical theatre camp especially for Juniors, and the perfect choice for those considering future performances with The Off Broadway Children’s Theatre. Campers will learn excerpts from “Miss Spider’s Tea Party,“ while studying the basics of acting, voice, auditioning, and movement from industry professionals. Camp culminates in an end-of-session performance.

SUMMER STOCK – ”Alice in Wonderland” (ages 7-12)
Tuition: $600 for 2 Weeks/Monday through Friday Classes
June 10-21 from 10 am – 3 pm

Summer Stock at Off Broadway is a fun-filled 2-week program that will produce this classic musical. Each morning campers will warm-up with acting and improvisational games then move on rehearsing for this full scale production, to be held for family and friends at the end of the camp, June 22-24. Auditions will be held at 10am on the first day of camp.

SUMMER STOCK – ”TBA” (ages 11-18)

Aspiring Actors and Actresses are encouraged to take part in our Improv camp. This camp will focus on acting as it improv games and exercises, including audition techniques. They will produce a production to be viewed by the public on the final evening

Junior Dance Camp (Ages 7-10)

Session Two: July 8-12
Geared for dancers of all skill levels, dancers will begin each day with Ballet. Then, they will get to explore the worlds of hip hop, lyrical, modern, Broadway Jazz , Jazz and acrobatics. Dancers will focus on increasing flexibility as well as technique. This is a great way to try something new or improve what they already know.

The Bare Necessities- Beginning Musical Theatre

Ages 4 – 7

Have you always wanted to act, dance or sing? Come join us for a great introduction to the art of musical theater, designed for the performer with moderate to no experience. This is the best way to introduce your young performer to the genre of musical theater for the first time! Using the adventurous  world of Jungle Book, students will gain knowledge of the basics of stage performance, vocal technique, and simple dance movement culminating with a showcase on the last day of class for family and friends.

Tiny Dancers

Students learn to use the body and imagination to creatively express

the dynamics of music and dance. Classes include simplified ballet

movements, exercises and games to develop rhythm, flexibility,

coordination, and self-confidence.
